ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING THE STUDENTS EXCEEDING MAXIMUM PERIOD OF STUDY

Exams for Students Dismissed From the Prepatory Program

Except for the one-year foreign language preparatory class, regardless of whether they register for each semester, starting from the semester in which the courses related to the program they are registered are given; the students must complete the preparatory education period within a maximum of two years; must complete undergraduate programs with a four-year education period within a maximum of seven years. According to the amendment of paragraph (c) of Article 44 of the Higher Education Law No. 2547 and change in the Article 28 of the Law No. 6569; The fall semester of the 2014-2015 academic year is taken as the starting date for calculating the maximum period of study of the students.

An exemption exam right will be given to the students who have been dismissed from the University due to failing to fulfill their preparatory program obligations even though they fulfill their obligation to attend classes at the end of their maximum education period.

Exam Right of Students Who De-Registered During Their Studies

--> Students who, despite fulfilling their attendance responsibility by the time they have reached their maximum period of study, have failed in mid-year and end-of-year responsibilities and been dismissed from the University are entitled, upon their application, to an exam for a failed course if they have obtained at least 60 ECTS credits during their studies and three exams for maximum three failed courses to be sat in three years if they have obtained 60 to 179 ECTS credits during their studies.

Additional Exams for Senior Students:

--> As per the decision of the Council of Higher Education on 27.09.2021, the following rights apply: "... by the end of these periods, current senior students of a higher education institution and associate and undergraduate students who are either going to be dismissed or were dismissed in 2017-2018 academic year from their universities are entitled to two additional exams from all courses, which also takes into account the nature of applied ones, so that they can graduate if they have not taken or attended those courses" or have received a failing letter grade. The dates of the additional exams are specified in the academic calendar.

The applications started on 10 January 2022, Monday and will be open until the end of working hours on 31 January 2022, Monday, as per the CoHE's decision dated 06.10.2021.
